Postal Monopoly raises rates again

The cost of mailing a letter will go up a penny — to 42 cents — on May 12.

Why don’t we end the postal monopoly and see where the market price takes us? I expect it would be cheaper for some deliveries (like in town) and more expensive for other deliveries (like out of state). It seems ridiculous that the post office still holds its monopoly in this day and age, where are all of these anti-monopoly types when you need them? Maybe they are too busy protesting Wal-Mart to care about a real monopoly.
