Daylight savings time doesn't work
It not only costs most people an hour of sleep, now officials and researchers are questioning the value of daylight savings time.
The city's (Ft. Collins) engineer for energy services says moving the clock forward, even starting the shift earlier, seems to merely shift energy use to different times.

This should not surprise anyone as it is typical of all government programs. It was conceived and implemented without much evidence that it worked, and it remained even after it was apparent that it doesn’t work. In fact the start/ending days were moved around by President Bush costing business millions of dollars, even though the evidence that it works and saves energy was not there. It is imposed by the government, but the costs are predominately incurred by the average citizens and businesses within the country. There really is not libertarian position on the time of day that should be used, but government meddling in the time of day has had about as much success as government meddling in any area of society.
