State Convention Concluded
Candidates, Platform, and Board announced
The Libertarian Party of Colorado's annual convention concluded late in the afternoon of Saturday, March 8th.
The convention was held in the Student Senate chambers of Colorado State University, and was sponsored and organized by the Libertarian Party at Colorado State University, a student organization and LPCO Educational Instution Affiliate.
Along with the usual housekeeping of Constitution and Bylaws updates, Platform updates, and Board reports, the state delegates nominated candidates for office, delegates to the Libertarian National Convention in May, new LPCO Board members, and the Colorado Libertarian Electoral College delegation.
Since this is also a Presidential Election year, there was a Presidential candidate luncheon. Libertarian Presidential candidates Michael P. Jingozian, George Phillies, and Wayne Allyn Root all travelled to Ft. Collins to speak to the convention and take questions from the attendees.
Afterwards, a straw poll for the Presidential nomination was taken. Candidates were nominated from the floor, and a paper ballot (hand counted!) was taken. The winner was Wayne Allyn Root.
Candidates for Office were nominated as well:
