Historically, Boulder has been predominantly Independent by voter registration. However, Boulder County has been discovering over the past few years that having Democrats in the Board of County Commissioners does not mean that the "democracy" we believe is happening is really there.
In November you will be able to choose between Democrats, Republicans, and Libertarians. Already we can see that corporate interests (based on the awards we receive) are happy with the way the Democrats are steering our County, and we can decide for ourselves if we believe the Republicans will fare any better against the onslaught of corporatism grinding away at the very core of what it means to be a community.
Good article by Eva Kosinski that shows how corporate interests are influencing politicians even at the local and county levels. There is a lot more to the article than the sample I have posted here, so read the whole thing.
