All I can say, if you're going to spend all your political capital on one issue, make it the War on Drugs or the War on Terror, not Health Care. If you want to save America, stop the bleeding first.
You are right, if you are going to spend all of your political capital on one issue, I think for Americans it is easier to accept more freedom than less freedom almost all of the time.
People never revolt because taxes are too low or government doesn't control enough of their lives.
