This is a Press Release from the vote NICKS campaign:
Vote Nicks For Littleton District 3
=======================================
For Immediate Release: October 22, 2009
It has come to the attention of the Vote NICKS campaign that several City of Littleton citizens have filed a complaint on October 16th in the 18th Judicial District Court against a political committee that had attacked the candidate, Travis Nicks. The attacks were coming from a registered political committee
that goes by the name of Citizen’s for Littleton’s Future. Being a political committee bound by state statute this indicated that the attack was perhaps not only malevolent but also in breach of election law. After reviewing the complaint Mr. Nicks found it to be grounded in reason and in the principle of
adhering to the law.
Therefore the Vote NICKS campaign will join the complaint. Travis was quoted as saying “I am greatly saddened that individuals in our city would act in such a malicious and untruthful way but I also realize that they are a very small minority among many much more mature individuals.”
A campaign for city council is supposed to be about the debate of ideas and that is how Nicks plans to continue. “Lying and spreading rumors is not a civil way to engage in political discourse. This city deserves better and I intend to provide that opportunity.”
“We will see where the investigation leads and we will monitor the situation closely.” said Apryl Brady, the Campaign manager for Vote NICKS. Regrettably, the Individuals facing potential criminal charges are the following: Stewart Meagher, Susan Thornton, Karen Caplan, Ray Koernig, Amy Conklin, and Flo
Bullock. This group has endorsed the other candidate in Travis Nicks’ race. “It was my hope that we could have a lively and civilized campaign without malicious lies.” said Travis “ but I trust the voters of Littleton to make the right decisions.”
Ah Travis. Say it so. Your dreams have been dashed by the dastardly criminal cabal and their "malicious lies". Trust this voter to make the right decision Travy.
I love your drippy hypocrisy. The "Nicks campaign"? Right. Your self importance reeks.
