San Miguel County Libertarian Party
"Tyranny is always better organized than freedom." - Charles Peguy, French Philospher (1873-1914)
That's not all: It's got more people working for it, too. And it's better funded. That's where you come in.
Dear San Miguel County Libertarian,
The San Miguel County Libertarian Party Affiliate has gotten off to a good start. At our last meeting we elected our executive committee, which now consists of:
Chairman: Marc Guttman
Vice-chairman: Bill Masters
Secretary: Brandon Perry
Treasurer: Bob Dempsey
We now have a bank account and a post office box: PO BOX 3164, Telluride, CO 81435
Several people have joined the affiliate and have paid their annual dues of $50.
We have had five letters to the editor printed in the Telluride Daily Planet and have submitted two more. You can read these letters at: http://smclp.org/media.htm
Our website, www.smclp.org, has been developed by Eric Adolphi and myself and is constantly being updated. Please review and make suggestions.
We currently have two candidates for county elections in 2006 and we are searching for more quality candidates for county and town positions:
Robert Dempsey for San Miguel County Coroner
William S. Masters for San Miguel County Sheriff
The Libertarian Party of Colorado State Convention and Wild West Liberty Fest will be held May 7th, 2005 in Montrose, CO. Please see http://www.lpco2005.org/ for information.
2004 Libertarian Presidential Candidate and a guest speaker at the CO convention, Michael Badnarik, will also be giving his famous constitution class in Montrose, Sunday May 8th at 10am to 5pm at Delta/Montrose Electric Association (DMEA), 11925 6300 Road / Montrose Colorado 81402. The class has received great reviews. “In 8 hours, Michael covers far more than you learned in years of high school or college, in a way you'll never forget.” Details are available here: http://smclp.org/calendar.htm
We are looking forward to a large turn-out at these events from San Miguel County Libertarians.
Our next SMCLP meeting will follow this convention sometime. Date, time and place will be printed in the Daily Planet and Telluride Watch.
SMCLP encourages and hopes for your participation, ideas, activism, and donations. Please contact us with any ideas or interests. Please join our business discussion group at http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/smclp
Sincerely,
Marc Guttman
