FORT COLLINS — A 9-year-old's death, allegedly caused by a distracted cellphone user, is behind a new push to force Coloradans to put their cellphones away while driving.
We already have laws that cover reckless driving, and already have special charges for reckless driving resulting in death or injury. There is no need to start to create special laws to cover specific activities that are considered dangerous.
Because as the last two posts on this blog show, the police are so special they will be exempted from this law if it passes.
...adding that law enforcement and other emergency personnel would be exempted from the restrictions.
